Families who want their aging parents to stay at home but who cannot afford or provide necessary full-time care can find a viable solution through a new, free online community called Host & Care.
Pennington, New Jersey - March 21, 2009 - As the Baby Boomers continue to age, more of them and their families will be facing the heartbreaking decision of moving them into nursing homes and assisted living environments. Although some of these facilities can provide exceptional service for seniors, most people would rather spend their golden years in their own home, surrounded by their own belongings, and having some control over their existence. Unfortunately, most adult children are not capable of caring for their parents in-home full-time because of their own work and family commitments.
Thankfully, a new solution may be available to help these families and to assist more seniors in being able to stay in the comfort of their homes. That service, known as Host & Care, is a groundbreaking free online community.
The purpose of the community is to bring together members who have needs and who can provide assistance to one another. Families who are unable to care for their elderly parents in-home can connect with someone on the site who needs a place to live. That someone may be interested in relocating, may be one of the millions who have recently become unemployed, may be a student, or someone looking for a chance to see the world with little money. In exchange for providing the care and companionship needed, the other site member can receive a free room or free room and board.

Affordable background and reference checks are available through the site to ensure that members are not making false claims about their identity or are hiding criminal records. Also, the site boasts an array of Web 2.0 functionality that gives all involved parties a chance to communicate with one another before finalizing the arrangement.
The arrangement is not intended to be a permanent one so there is no long-term commitment required to look for or provide services/rooms via the Host & Care community. Instead, the site strives to provide an environment for part-time opportunities that will enrich the lives of both parties.
